Boris Johnson MUST be held to account for his catastrophic Covid failures. This is not a party-political issue.

Boris Johnson will be remembered for partying whilst overseeing the UK having one of the highest death tolls in the world from Covid-19 during the first and second waves.

Like many thousands of others, my family followed the rules and will have to live with the consequences of not being with our loved ones at the end, for the rest of our lives.

The disrespect the Prime Minister showed us, both in breaking those rules himself and then lying to our faces about it, is something we’ll never forgive.

In 2021, Boris Johnson looked bereaved families in the eye and told us he’d done everything he could to protect our loved ones. That wasn’t true and he’ll have to live with the knowledge of the harm he did and the lies he told for the rest of his life.

Very strong response to Boris Johnson’s defence dossier from families whose loved ones died of Covid and are campaigning for the full truth and accountability.

James is right. There has been a huge degree of wisdom after the fact here. Boris was working tirelessly to overcome the pandemic, with a team who had to be in No 10 to discharge that task, and placed reasonable reliance on the advice he received as to events.

Reaction Covid-19 Bereaved Families for Justice UK “He claims it was ‘his job’ to say goodbye to colleagues, that he ‘would have needed electric fence’ around him to stick to the rules and that social distancing only applied ‘when possible’. Did any of this apply when we couldn’t be with our loved ones?”

Today, Boris Johnson said that having goodbye drinks with his colleagues was "part of his job". This is what saying 'goodbye' to our loved ones looked like. Reply to this with a reminder to Boris Johnson of the loved ones that you didn't get to say goodbye to.

Well done to ITV News for this story. We can see how raw the whole experience still is. It’s so wrong that Covid-19 Bereaved Families for Justice UK families have had their trust in UK Covid-19 Inquiry destroyed. There’ll be 3mn more - those unfairly #excluded from Gov support - that will feel the same way.

222,238 people have died from Covid-19 in this country. Each one of those deaths was a tragedy. As bereaved families we say: this can never happen again.

It’s absolutely obscene that the Cabinet Office is going to spend hundreds of thousands of pounds of taxpayers' money on suing its own public inquiry into being unable to access critical evidence.

Families like mine have done all we can to campaign for an inquiry that is across all of the facts and can learn lessons that will stop others going through the horrors that we have. Why are the Cabinet Office standing in their way?

You have to assume that they’re sitting on evidence that will devastate Rishi Sunak’s reputation and that’s more important to them than saving lives in the future.

Chris Whitty very defensive, going around the houses and filibustering his answers to try and throw the lawyer off thread of their original questions. #CovidInquiry
