Alan Inglis, whose son Calum died of Covid aged 34, after being left in his prison cell for 14days with no medical assistance in Addiewell, he spoke in London, as a member of the ‘Scottish Covid Bereaved’ prior to Boris Johnson giving evidence UK Covid-19 Inquiry
Today Boris Johnson offered an apology, but he caveated it with the words ‘hindsight’ & claims he saved thousands of lives- for many of the covid bereaved that was a ‘grotesque distortion of the truth’- his evidence continues tomorrow UK Covid-19 Inquiry
Time for action not words Humza Yousaf lift crown immunity Scottish Prison Service
God love you William, what chance did you have? 💔 Humza Yousaf this is your prison service bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotla…
Prof Devi Sridhar in response to question by our KC Dr Claire Mitchell KC today UK Covid-19 Inquiry “I think the biggest mistake was around testing & …we didn't have a testing strategy, capacity, capabilities.… NHS Scotland, they didn't have adequate PPE..”
Will leave more controversial aspects of Inquiry to others but respect to Prof. Devi Sridhar as below for all she's said, done and endured.Such clarity again yesterday on the need for maximum suppression until vaccines and treatments available and surely a lesson for future pandemics.
Today we’ll hear evidence from Liz Lloyd -Fmr Chief of Staff to Former FM Nicola Sturgeon at 10am, followed at 2pm by First Minister Humza Yousaf 🏴The Scottish Covid Bereaved have fought for the truth, they were promised it & deserve nothing less UK Covid-19 Inquiry
Jason Leitch “strictly speaking it was breaking the rules, but…” Covid-19 does not do nuance, it is a virus and follows rules (think IPC) namely #CovidIsAirborne - drink in hand will not stop transmission Humza Yousaf.
The parents of Katie Allan, who took her own life in Polmont over 5 years ago, have been the voice for so many, whose names we do not know, whose cries went unheard in our dungeons of despair💔-as the joint FAI draws to a close, an interview with Catriona Renton
4 yrs ago today the first Covid death in Britain was reported. Now when you hear Johnson⏬️& you know what came after with parties & Tory PPE deals, & before in govt unpreparedness, you realise what an utterly appalling bunch of charlatans had been voted in Stefan Simanowitz
We have spent 6 years campaigning on this issue. It has got worse. The current suicide prevention strategy Scottish Prison Service is not fit for purpose. The lack of information sharing between NHS and SPS staff is often a contributing factor. Almost all these deaths are avoidable.
