We’ve done a big push on supporting loose parts play from P1-P7 over the last couple of weeks with a focus on the adults being involved and children setting a meta-skills target.Enjoying seeing the creativity, focus, leadership and collaboration develop each week 🥳

Set P1-P7 an open-ended outdoor STEM challenge 4 weeks ago with the question, “What can you build?” Some opted to make permanent structures, some used stories as an inspiration for building with the loose parts.I think they smashed it and now can’t pick a winner 🤷‍♀️

Our expectations of children are not set in stone but in documents - they can be changed! We may need to adjust expectations & make adaptions for much of the school careers of many children who have experienced the pandemic But it is easier to talk about short term “catch up”

Home from my first residential trip since 2009 😂 Edinburgh with P7 was a blast! Caught thirty minutes of CPD from deirdre grogan on the way home tonight and gutted I missed the rest as it was brilliant & inspirational as always. My mind was blown reading these statistics

Never in my life did I think I would be posting photos of planters but I’m so proud of how hard our eco-group have worked in the garden with support from Hawthorn Allotments 🪴 All going well so far 🤞

Said to P6 last week my Dad couldn’t lend & set up his Gazebo for our eco groups garden open day as he was unwell. A reply from one of them, “Why don’t we just build two dens for the guests to sit in & make tables from pallets instead?” Children are so resourceful & smart 🥰

So delighted to be going back to the stage I love, P1 ! Sneak peak into one of our cosy spaces set up with my own (now big P2) helper 🤩

#PlayInverclyde not keen on the phrase ‘challenging children’ or the term ‘misbehaviour’ but couldn’t agree more with the gist of this!

After just two weeks, P1 are loving their block play 👏 🤩 A very busy week & even got our task board up & running so they can manage their own morning!
