With the end of April comes the beginning of a new adventure! Excited to share the opening of the Pardy Lab tomorrow at the Armand Frappier Centre in Laval! Avec le début de mai vient le départ du laboratoire Pardy au centre Armand Frappier à Laval! Institut national de la recherche scientifique

Our article on transcriptional control of the Cryptosporidium life cycle outĀ todayĀ inĀ @nature. Tremendous body of work byĀ Katelyn Walzer, defining (among many other things) how parasites choose to be male. Read the paper atĀ nature.com/articles/s4158ā¦

Past time to share some exciting news - my postdoc paper has been published in PLOS Pathogens! IFNg is important during #Cryptosporidium infectionā¦but how? journals.plos.org/plospathogens/⦠ChrisHunter Boris Striepen

In its 184 year history Journal of Experimental Medicine has not published a manuscript on Cryptosporidium. Today, an injustice righted with Ian Cohn and Boris Striepen using transgenic parasites to understand how cDC1s regulate T cellāmediated resistance to Cryptosporidium rupress.org/jem/article-abā¦

Read our new paper: Cryptosporidium impacts epithelial turnover and is resistant to induced death of the host cell by Bethan Wallbank out today in mBio. Great team effort with Ryan Pardy ChrisHunter Igor Brodsky journals.asm.org/doi/10.1128/mb⦠Infected = not apoptotic:

Dr. Roger Marshall called changes-"cutting inefficiencies", said that many NIH funded scientists are incompetent. U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. said that NIH funding is *not* frozen. Call it what you want: my patients will not survive. Call it what you want: it's a betrayal. Shame on you all.

For those interested in infection and the CNS - a mix of math, parasites and immunology (Stuart Ralph) to understand why latency matters and is host protective. Does take a village and congrats to Julia Eberhard Sebastian Lourido and all involved! rdcu.be/efknc
