Went to see a patient & the RN told me: “Heads up. Our patient is she/her.” Patient at one point asked me a question, I replied “Yes ma’am.” She hadn’t quite looked at me until I said that. After she was fully engaged. Here’s how long it took me to adjust: zero seconds.
