I met Jimmy at a dinner he graciously hosted for a small group at his home in Taipei in December. His commitment to freedom and democracy was inspiring, as was his hopefulness. Trying to silence voices for freedom only makes them louder. The future does not belong to the CCP.

Absolutely on point. It's critically important to have a dialogue with leaders who say they want to improve their relations with Israel and Jewish communities. From Serbia to Saudi Arabia and everywhere between, these contacts can pay future dividends.

And every American should stand behind efforts to make it more painful for regimes in Iran, Cuba, DPRK and elsewhere to imprison, torture and kill hostages in the hope of achieving policy goals they’ll never realize or gaining domestic support for policies that’ll never succeed.
