The Minister met students from Priory Integrated College to see at first hand their involvement in the @PrincesTrustNI Achieve programme. Pupils demonstrated everything they have learned as part of the programme including some impressive presentation skills.

Another positive set of Northern Ireland labour market statistics from NISRA. Unemployment still under 4% at 3.8% (UK 4.7%) in Q2 2021. HMRC payrolls data up again in July by 1.1% m/m to 762,596. That’s a big surge of +7,927 in 1 month as economy continued to reopen.

Latest NISRA report outlines continued challenges for young people -Youth unemployment standing at 12.0% with a NEET’s rate of 10.4% - that’s 21k NI young people not in education, employment or training. The youngest in our workforce are more than 4 times likely to be unemployed
