Don’t do this. Just don’t. It plays right into the hands of delayers and deniers. Individuals blaming each other based on how responsible we are as consumers while producers /polluters laugh their way to the bank.

This is utterly brilliant, yet again, from the folks at theJuiceMedia. Feel free to name-check your favourite Irish sectoral lobbyists fighting against strong action to the list of people “who are probably going to get us all killed”

Climate change will affect everything & everyone we love! There is still time to act & meet the goal to limit warming & improve our lives.
Here’s us, our family & friends, showing how global temperature has changed since the pre-industrial era (1850 – 1900)

Empowering to see so many people turn up for the @COP26Ireland march in Dublin today. Cross generational support for climate justice and more ambitious action!

The Australien Government has made an ad about the policies it's taking to the UN Climate Summit in Glasgow, and it’s surprisingly honest and informative.

Accountability through visibility is key. No future generation will forgive those who refused to act during our last decade of opportunity for 1.5.

I may be stupid but where is the annex each chapter refers to for “actions, including timelines and responsible organisations”?

Here we go again: Tanaiste Leo Varadkar on Morning Ireland repeats stubborn myth about Ireland “feeding 45 million people, 9 times our population” & implying our food system helps abate world hunger.

FACT: Ireland is a net *importer* of food energy, according to UN-FAO

The saddest thing about all of this is that Irish farmers will be the ones who suffer if industry succeeds in delay and distraction tactics.

Also, we literally market Ireland as the most natural place to grow grass for dairy because of our “stable climate” on the Atlantic 🤦‍♂️

There’s a narrative surrounding about the chances of a breakthrough deal that will save the planet. I don’t think this is either useful or accurate. Short thread

We can no longer ignore the climate crisis.

It's time to stop making excuses and start making changes!

The analogy of the house being on fire while the kids are upstairs and we’re all sitting around the kitchen table pointing fingers for who’s to blame or should act was spot on.

We are at the forefront of the climate crisis.

In the past 4 years, East Africa has suffered:
Droughts
Floods
Landslides
Locust invasions

The most affected are people in rural areas, we are the least emitters of carbon yet we suffer the most.

COP26 can you hear us?

There is no point in tackling the climate crisis only to worsen the ecological crisis in the process. We need to ensure that we appreciate the integrated nature of these problems and respond with integrated solutions.
