🧵An end of an era with The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk’s IMAX Theater being knocked down to make way for the WALK Bridge. Silver linings are: 1. A new state of the art 4D theater opened two years ago. If you haven’t been, it’s like a Disney experience. maritimeaquarium.org/4d-theater

2. The Maritime Aquarium was in a bit of a pickle years before the Walk Bridge project was announced since the equipment, seating and experience were way past it’s design life and the massive expense to upgrade wasn’t in the budget. They were looking for a change.

3. The parking lot and property IMAX is on will be a combo park and parking (I’d prefer all park) in the future. It will provide more green space to residents and visitors in the area. 4. State paid over $40 million for the new theater and other major upgrades at the aquarium.
