Thanks for the great talk. Canadian Medical Association wants to work with government to create supportive systems where family physicians (and specialists) can thrive and focus on what they do best....caring for their patients.

Female physicians are typically expected to take more time with patients, demonstrate more empathy, listen more.

We need to stop talking about this emphasis on communication as making female doctors “less efficient” and acknowledge the fact that it makes patients safer.

As Physicians we can share our knowledge with patients and colleagues & increase awareness & action. Canadian Medical Association worked with World Health Organization (WHO) to release a Toolkit for Health Professionals -designed to inform the conversations.
