Leadership is the art of harnessing human energy to create change, to make a difference, and to get results. And the first person you have to lead, is yourself. #leadershippodcast

To better prepare students for the future, involve them in making a difference now. Students need opportunities to connect, lead, serve, and share. That’s what relevant learning means to me. It makes a contribution. #FutureDriven

It’s amazing how we can misdiagnose symptoms. When I feel “beat up” in my leadership role, it’s often because I’m on empty. Leaders should identify what nourishes them and pursue it intentionally. It won’t happen spontaneously any more than broccoli will jump into your mouth.

Some things I want my students to know... Know who you are Know you have purpose Know your strengths Know your dreams Know your choices shape your future Know you matter (you have infinite worth) Know empathy Know kindness Know I’m your biggest fan #FutureDriven #satchat

Little daily habits become patterns that become our DNA....and that becomes our identity.: who we are. Watch your patterns....in your relationships and in your pursuits of your goals. Your relationships and your work.

Most people don't want to look to themselves for the solution. They want something outside of them to change. Be the change. You can't control anyone or anything else. But you can control you. What you believe, say, and do is your choice each day. Be great!

Imagine how a school culture could be transformed if every person in the building was intentional with finding and sharing the good in others! #TeachDent #Culturize #JoyfulLeaders #KidsDeserveIt

As we develop our classroom environments for the next school year, please be mindful of students impacted by trauma. 👉Create a safe space 👉Establish predictability 👉Build a sense of trust 👉Offer choices 👉Stay Regulated 👉Restore instead of punish #traumainformed #SEL

KCreighton A4: It’s not about the best rules; it’s about the best relationships. Our first days in class should not be spent telling kids everything they can’t do. Building relationships must be intentional and our activities intentionally planned. Highly recommend @EduProtocols. #TeachDent

I think the most powerful instructional leadership can be seen in the collaboration of teachers who are motivating each other to raise the bar. Positive peer pressure from colleagues is more meaningful than supervisory pressure from administrators.

Great leaders don’t just react, they anticipate. As a leader, work to solve problems early. In doing so, you are actually eliminating future challenges before they become realities. #leadershippodcast

We don't have to make a choice between technology skills and interpersonal skills. The person who develops both will be better equipped for future success. #FutureDriven

Success shouldn’t be measured by how much you have. It should be measured by what you do with what you have, what you give, what you contribute, how you add value to others.
