One of the most important lessons taught in my classroom. Kids will be learners the rest of their lives. The quicker we as teachers can instill this lesson in them, the quicker our world can come together as one. Some things are WAY bigger than our four walls of our classroom.

Yesterday was huge for my classroom. It marked the first day that every student in RM 213 tested at or above the benchmark for our 4th graders within the district. So, because of that, they get donuts. Also, I forgot to eat breakfast this morning, so that might be a factor, too!

Where there is a Thing 1, there has to be a Thing 2! So blessed to be able to teach at the same school my kids go to.

Hobbies are important. My vocal quartet just qualified for the international competition in Charlotte this summer!

After a crazy day which included two performances of our talent show at school, there’s no better way to spend the night than supporting my kiddos in their orchestra and band concert.

Open house is in the books! It was so nice to see so many students come back and see me from last year! Can’t wait to get back in the classroom with my new students! 6 days!

One of the best feelings in the world is when I receive emails from past students telling me they miss me and our class. Another is getting to randomly see my kids and their family in public. It will never get old. Once you’re a part of 213, you will ALWAYS be a part of 213.

This is what happens when you’re open and honest with your students and show them you’re a human, just like them. My youngest son was in the hospital for 5 days. Love these kids. They all signed the card as well. #empathyoveracademics
