The roads in Dallas are fine and were fine yesterday. It is like a regular day in New England. And yet school is canceled, the gym is closed, and people are driving with their flashers on, if driving at all. Was True Grit really shot in Texas?

ALSO, where are all the Dallas people with overpriced Land Rover Defender & Mercedes G-Class SUVs today? Certainly not on the roads.

I reported this 13 years ago. I don’t know how much it relates to what’s happening now. But our air traffic control system has had problems for a long time: motherjones.com/politics/2011/…

I agree with Yoni Appelbaum, but the places with cheap housing, such as Texas, are increasingly also the ones creating the jobs and luring corporate HQs. The bigger problems now driving up housing costs are inflation and interest rates. theatlantic.com/magazine/archi…

Notable that this comes from the WSJ editorial board: "We’ve courted Mr. Trump’s ire by calling the Mexico and Canada levies the “dumbest” in history, and we may have understated the point."

Based on what has happened since Trump came to office, I don't think there is a clearer example in history of the economy getting wrecked as the direct result of the actions and policies of a president.

I agree with Michelle Goldberg that Gavin Newsom has made some missteps in engaging with the Right but doing so will inevitably be messy and his approach is brave and necessary to bridge the huge gulf in our political discourse.

The abused has become the abuser, morally self defeating and victorious only in the most phyrric of ways. nytimes.com/2025/03/24/wor…

Pinned love letter to Elon from 2013, because I don’t think my account has been throttled enough yet. motherjones.com/politics/2013/…

Maybe Ivanka Trump should get Donald one of these stickers for Father’s Day. I hear they are popular in the Bay Area, which tends to set national trends.

I join the millions of Americans who condemn political violence. What unites us is more important than what divides us. We are #BetterThanThis

The UI/UX for UPS and FedEx are both deplorable. It takes forever to create an account, you have to enter the same info repeatedly, and the process of batch shipping is a nightmare. I'm amazed they can't make this better.
