Texas is facing elevated wildfire danger. Today, I issued a disaster declaration for 191 counties & mobilized state emergency response resources. Texans are urged to monitor wildfire conditions. Our #1 priority is to protect the safety of Texans.

SB10 may have an unintended consequence of defunding firefighters in Texas. While I applaud the attempt to adjust the property tax system and control runaway taxation, fire departments rely on ad valorem to fund their budgets and changing the calculation will defund them #txlege

Pretty good day yesterday. Texas A&M Football beat the hell outta Utah state and Lamar University Football had their highest ranked win in program hx!

5 years ago today I was operating on the August Complex Fire, the largest wildfire in California history. I took this photo while conducting a burnout op. I had it made into a large picture and it is framed, hanging in my office.

I really messed up my routine today. I listened to the whole The Texan weekly roundup in one sitting on the day it was released. So now I am completely caught up on all my podcasts for the next week. #txlege

Today I was re-elected to my fourth term as Secretary/Treasurer of the Arlington Professional Fire Fighters. I look forward to continuing to serve those who selflessly serve the citizens and visitors of Arlington.
