My take home: - it was really hard - support staff (software devs, project managers, IT, admins) were key & must have clearer career progression pathways - funders must invest ahead of next event

We have unintentionally chosen the date of SMIDDY'23 at the same time as the ASTMH annual meeting. Hence, we wanted to sincerely apologize to some of our global health/NTD colleagues that cannot attend this edition. You'll be missed😢

In 2018 I decided to proactively collate info needed to rapidly develop epi-models for high-threat pathogens. We started a multi-pathogen review, mostly paused in the pandemic (but used info on SARS/MERS for early COVID models) and recently restarted. Hear about this project here
