imo, the state takeover was built to be a disaster. the MO was always a move to charters for "failing" districts. (don't forget to check the charter school report cards these ""failing"" districts send to. spoiler alert: they're not all impressive).

We already have learning centers in every community in the state. They are called SCHOOLS. And they desperately need our investment. This is ridiculous.

While COVID-19 undoubtedly presented significant challenges for education, it should not serve as an excuse for Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE). Despite the pandemic, they still had a responsibility to fulfill their duties & address the evolving needs of students & teachers.

RIDE runs the Central Falls School District, and the Auditor General's report says their financial management is a complete mess. They've admitted it, too. They found the same thing last year, but they still didn't fix it.

For real.
