Being thoughtful is hard. It's so easy to react to a problem by doing more of the same old stuff rather than being brave and trying something new.

This morning's useless fight: kiddo refusing to eat a homemade sausage mcmuffin with cheese. I ate it instead.

To the truck driver that pushed me off the road and into a drainage ditch: that was mean.

At younow, we work hard to make sure people feel safe. Like everywhere on the internet, we have some bad actors. Today, we made it a lot harder for those people to bully our users off-platform. Read more about it here: younowmerch.com/post/update-re….

We took a heavy-handed approach to eliminating off-platform bullying on Friday, and a lot of our users asked for something gentler. The thing is, we didn't jump to the heavy-handed way -- we spent years trying to find a gentle way before deciding on this path.

Since we implemented our latest (and probably not last) anti-bullying measures, I've had a lot of user complaints saying that we could have done things differently. What I haven't seen? The many daily complaints that used to filter in about people being bullied off platform.
