Playing loads of my rare spooky soundtracks, library music and 7s at the Listening Room, 180 Studios (on The Strand), Halloween evening (tonight!). Will be giving away some horror pop trumps too. A handful of tickets left here: tinyurl.com/536d9a37

A good result for everyone last night in the UK as AI bill allowing tech companies to basically pillage and destroy the future of the creative industries is knocked back.. Speech below is brilliant and sums up entire situation excellently if you have the time.. 👇

Along with 1,000 musicians, today we're releasing an (almost) silent album protesting the UK government's plan to upend copyright law to benefit AI companies. It's an album of recordings of empty studios & performance spaces, representing the effect the govt's plans would have

Pretty solid quote summing up the current The Labour Party government approach to AI and copyright sadly.. If you destroy the creative powerhouse of this country it won’t come back again..

More evidence that generative AI competes with the work it's trained on, and the people behind that work. Illustrators, copywriters, graphic designers out of work. This is a key reason training data must be licensed, and gen AI training is not fair use theguardian.com/technology/202…

The UK government was just defeated in the House of Lords for a *fifth* time over AI training data transparency. The Lords continue to insist, rightly, that AI companies be required to disclose their training data. Without transparency, creators can't enforce their rights.
