Cuckmere haven 2:00-7:30 yesterday afternoon.
Long billed dowitcher on edge of the island showing brighter colours than expected, 1 greenshank, 4 redshanks, 2 Dunlin, 6 black tailed godwits, 1 bar tailed godwit, 3 whimbrels, 1 whitethroat. Sussex Birding British Birds

The gann estuary: this afternoon, 5+ black tailed godwits, 3 whimbrel, 16 Brent geese, 20+ringed plover, 13 curlew a female redstart and 4 sandwhich terns. Pembrokeshire Bird Group

Dale fort. 2 GN divers, small flock of lesser redpoll, 10+guillemots, 1 razorbill, stone chat, skylark, 2 sandwich terns plus 3 Curlew and common sandpiper by the Gann.

I was in a garden centre today getting some vegetable seeds and I saw boxes of this stuff. Be aware that although many of these plants have lots of nectar they are no substitute for native wildflowers as they do not support many insects in other stages of their life cycle.

What's the point in trying to educate people on the environment when articles like this are posted. Releasing pheasant has the opposite effect. Actual re-wildling aims to restore natural ecosystems and is not done by releasing non native pheasants. ⁦ independent.ie/business/farmi…
