IT'S JUST SO WRONG! Pls RT! I know I've been banging the Scampton drum a bit these past couple of weeks but I've now seen the UKGovernment 's plans for Scampton, which were clearly written with minimal planning, little prep and little thought. Back of fag packet stuff. But...

...anyone can read it here: gov.uk/government/pub…. And then make up their own minds. There's no real thought about heritage. But the tragedy of this is two-fold.

First, it's such an unbelievable wound to Lincolnshire, which so desperately needs this prestige airfield to continue & thrive and for the brilliant #LevellingUp plan - with its investment, jobs, & promise of turning it into a high-tech aviation and aerospace hub - to happen...

And second, it really is 'immeasurably cruel' as Gary Lineker pointed out to treat the Afghans, Iraqis, Iranians and Syrians due to be housed here - and who sacrificed & risked so much to reach the UK - so appallingly: to put them in shipping containers.

Shipping containers: synonymous with illegal human smuggling, even cruel death. How could anyone be so crass? It's all such a tragedy: the tragedy of those who could achieve great things in this country given the chance, the tragedy of a fine development plan being kicked into...

...the long grass, the tragedy of the proud locals of the Lincoln area who are being denied a brilliant chance to enhance and excel. And all done with so little care, compassion and conscience. I feel impotent, powerless, appalled, and really, really angry...

...So, shame on you Suella Braverman, Robert Jenrick and the rest for playing posture politics and cruelly mucking around with people's lives.
