I saw lots of people in sickness, and in pain, and stress, and worry, and experiencing amongst, and fearing the, worst moments of their lives. Do you know what not a single person, in this less than affluent corner of the UK, was also worried about? How they'd pay...

Can you imagine the worst moment of your life being made worse by that? A horrifying prospect. Instead these moments are filled with *brilliant* #NHS staff delivering world class care and healthcare. Society saying 'we got your back'. There's something wonderful about that.

I'm sure there will be a dickhead exception that could prove the rule, but overwhelmingly the patients and loved ones I saw tonight will leave hospital mended as best our medical knowledge allows, and with a profound sense of gratitude. Religions have been based on worse things.
