So 1 of 3 things must be true. 1) National polls are underestimating Harris support & Midwest polls are correct, or 2) National polls are correct & Midwest polls continue to underestimate R support as in 2016 & 2020 or 3) Midwest states have trended left. Choose your fighter

The Diplomat conducted a long interview with Ishiba Shigeru, Japan's new PM designate last year. Lots of interesting material, especially on his views of Article 9 of the constitution (often said to commit Japan to "pacifism") thediplomat.com/2023/12/the-en…

This is exactly what happened when I used Euston last month, got annoyed I couldn't see train departures, went to find smaller screen. But despite less clutter on concourse then before still felt dangerously crowded. Also felt they had hidden M&S, is that part of the plan too?

Really good list, only missing when you walk through the barriers to exit, do not stop. If you need to work out where you are, take several more steps until you're clear of the people exiting behind you.

So, this afternoon I got home to find a lovely letter from NORTHERN 🚆 telling me about how they wanted to prosecute me for using the below ticket to travel on the specified route at a peak time. I paid £1.90 less than the fare they say I should have paid. A thread 🧵

I was born at midnight 40 years ago. On the cusp. My parents chose the 25th to give me a 3 rather than a 2 day gap between me and my nearest sister’s birthday. A wise choice. So here it is. I can offer no words of wisdom, as that hasn’t arrived yet. There’s always tomorrow.
