Thank you Dean Abernathy and the HWCOE for organizing last Thursday's goodbye event at the Harn Museum. Thank you for the alligator and all the kind words. Hopefully the John Harris farewell tour is finally over. I will miss this place and miss all the great people! Go Gators!

Two monumental icons and a most improbable friendship! The renegades reveal their intimate thoughts about life, love, family, and their vision for a hopeful future in an imperfect world. Who are your role models? Now that their collaboration is complete, is their bromance over?

Time to get rid of my old monitor I bought with a Dell computer in 2002. It has digital DVI-D and analog VGA video ports. In recent years I used a DVI-D to HDMI cable to hook up my laptop. My son Noah (born in 1999) learned to double-click playing video games on this monitor.

When you move, you find all kinds of things! This is a chip that Ken O and I designed as undergrads at MIT in 1982. The course used CMOS instead of NMOS for the first time, ~3um feature size. The chip was designed to help card counters, nonfunctional due to fab issues with MOSIS.

While packing, I found a party poster from when Ken O and I were apartment mates going to grad school at MIT. To celebrate Mother's Day with our friends, we threw a "Your Mother Party" in 1986. Everybody brought a picture of their mother and we tried to guess who was who. Fun!

It was wonderful to visit the Center for Advanced Coatings (CAC) Florida Tech, shown here with team members Mary McCay, Pei-Feng Hsu, Ed Croy, Frank Accornero, and their 1.6kW laser. They invent and apply coatings to protect devices from extreme heat.

My office was pranked by some of our wonderful Florida Tech staff. And they claim that they never watched The Queen’s Gambit Netflix series! Of course, the chess purists will point out the error in the setup.

Went to my first ASEE Engineering Deans Institute meeting in San Juan, PR and met with many great deans from around the country. I had a chance to catch up with #GatorEngineering Dean Forrest Masters and he even bought me a drink. Thank you Forrest!
