Last night was all about building fitness, getting match fit. Opportunity to stake a claim for the season ahead. Few positive performances. Thought Patterson & Harrison done well. Chiermiti struggled at times with an old fashioned physical CB. Heath looked lively.

Southampton are well within their rights to get the most out of this deal. Important we don’t make the same mistakes as previous years. Identify other players & move on if needed.

Leeds performed how we expected. Rode the storm out, got better in the 2nd half. Done by a poor decision which you won’t see a decision like this again this season. Stupid from Tarkowski for putting the ref in a position to make a decision. Should have got a draw. Frustrating

Showed we’ve held our nerve & believed we had the upper hand. Ideally the deal should of been more straight forward but little credit due for not panicking & simply paying whatever which has put us in the shit in previous years

If the Patterson rumours are true then you would think a RB has been identified and the club are working to get it over the line.

Are we confident of more signings blues?

The amount of players needed, for the amount of quality needed, the window so far has been a good one. Time will ultimately tell just how good/ bad depending on performances. Been a longtime coming since there’s been a sense of optimism after the window closes

With Nuno gone at Forest, be interesting to see how their season pans out. Done a good job, qualified for Europe.

Wasn’t for signing Grealish permanently but after a few games totally changed my mind. If we can get a deal done that suits us then he would be one of my first signings alongside a CDM.

Wasn’t convinced with the starting 11 to begin with. Those players will be needed through the season yet showed no desire to be in the 11. WWFC on their arse yet we produce that. Important lesson we need to play our strongest 11 as much as we can.

Alcaraz absolute game changer yesterday. Looked to link play, moved the ball forward & quickly. Gave us purpose to our attacks. To often this season our forward play has been slow, pedestrian and sideways. Good to see Grealish taking on the FB more in the 2nd half. Important win

6 points from that set of 3 fixtures is a good return. Need to back it up on Saturday
