80 years ago today, the freedoms we enjoy were secured by our remarkable Second World War generation. The sacrifices of those who fought for our peace must never be forgotten.

The GBE Bill has received Royal Assent and is now the Great British Energy Act! It was also approved by all three devolved governments – a first in this Parliament. This allows Great British Energy – our publicly owned energy company – to start delivering for people right across the UK.

Rhoda Grant has been a tireless champion for the Highlands & Islands since 1999. It’s been a pleasure to work for, with and campaign alongside her. I know she’ll continue to play a big role in the region. Wishing her all the best for whatever’s next. Thank you, Rhoda 🌹

It’s time to look forward — to move on from the stale old political fights and to find common sense, practical solutions that improve the lives of British people. Secure borders. Cheaper bills. More jobs. We will close a deal in the national interest.

Within just two weeks, we have secured trade deals with India, the US and now the EU. Prime Minister Keir Starmer is delivering for British people, British businesses, and British jobs.

Scottish salmon is the UK’s largest food export. Labour’s new deal with the EU will bring down food prices, giving shoppers more choice, and putting more money in your pocket.

Forbes welcomes it as ā€˜important progress’ Swinney rages against it. And Robertson throws his toys out the pram because he couldn’t make track changes. The SNP’s response to the EU deal has been totally scattergun and exposed them as shallow opportunists.

Industry minister Sarah Jones says businesses including steel firms and supermarkets "massively welcome this deal" "We had costs rising in our shops, there were checks at the border meaning... companies went bust, the trade we did with Europe collapsed we are taking a sovereign

The SNP have put themselves on the same side as Reform and the Tories on the EU reset deal. There seems to be nothing they won’t do to manufacture a grievance. It’s all the more absurd when the SNP policy is to go back into the Common Fisheries Policy.

Kate Forbes, spreading lies about pensions, again. National insurance contributions are not savings into a pot. WASPI women have not been denied their own savings.

Nigel Farage the worker’s friend? No chance. He voted against ending fire and rehire. He voted against sick pay from day 1. He wants to privatise the NHS. We see you.

Kate Forbes says the Scottish Government’s failures don’t matter, because you can count on the SNP ā€œto always stand up for Scotlandā€. Pathetic. #bbcdn
