… But overall, far from Brexit causing a 15% drop in UK trade (as assumed by the OBR even as late as November 2025), it seems more likely that Brexit has actually led to a net increase in total trade.

David Paton Considering that the UK has some of the highest tax rates, government spending and energy prices in the world, our trading performance has been remarkable. Now imagine the performance if the uniparty simply kept out of the way and let entrepreneurs and businesses do their thing.

Strange. I could have sworn that a mysoginistic, repressive, theocratic Islamist regime that’d been waging a regional war for years and just recently killed tens of thousands of its own citizens was a teeny weeny bit rogue?

Rachel Reeves is pretending her "high value council tax surcharge" is a local tax whereas it's actually a cash grab by central government “The word council tax means we levy it on occupiers, it is a local tax, raised locally, to be spent locally. This is not that – it is a tax

Zack Polanski: "There's no example in history where you've bombed people to democracy." This is why the Nazi Party are still in power in Germany, Japan is still under military rule, there have been no elections in Serbia since the 1990s and Kosovo hasn't achieved independence.

It shouldn’t have taken an Iranian attack on the world’s largest gas export facility in Qatar for us to realise the benefits of being able to produce our own oil and gas. As the world gets more dangerous, we must ditch fantasy Net Zero thinking and prioritise our own energy

The Labour Party Er paying overpaid train drivers lots more is not "investment." Nor is bunging cash unecessarily to the miners pension scheme, nor is paying bllions to Mauritius for taking the Chagos Islands from us. In truth the last one may lead to some investment - but only in Mauritius.

The UK is still an outlier on the cost of government borrowing even though Rachel Reeves has *checks notes* "fixed the foundations"... 👍

Axe the Fuel Tax. Labour want to raise fuel duty - during a cost of living crisis! Hardworking people & families will pay the price. After years without an increase under the Conservatives, Rachel Reeves is hitting motorists hard. Today the Conservatives will demand a vote.
