I was recently reminded that the buyout of the 4,500 acre Borve & Annishader estate took place 30 years ago, in 1993. A quietly successful community land buyout. Membership open to all residents, not just crofters. My 1st involvement in community ownership when working with HIE.

Great to be in Gigha again on a brilliant day to join their 22nd anniversary and to see Anne, wife of the late Simon Fraser raise the Gigha flag. Simon would be proud of this, one of his many legacies. ⁦Isle of Gigha Heritage Trust⁩ ⁦⁦@CommunityLandSc⁩

Machrihanish Airbase Community Co. is an excellent example of community land ownership driving economic growth & business start up. Amazing list of businesses that are now in this former airbase bought by the community in 2012. 1,000 acres of opportunity. machrihanish.org

This is seriously disappointing. We know these are tough times financially, but this is not a good sign for land reform in Scotland.

Tom Chance Middle Marches CLT @CommunityLandSc "There is a cultural historical element to caring about land reform in Scotland with the Highland Clearances. "But also in terms of social justice there is a really strong sense in Scotland of the injustice that so few people could own so much." - John Watt @CommunityLandSc

Really enjoyed joining in the celebrations of the 25th anniversary of the community acquisition of the Knoydart estate. TWENTY FIVE years and so many achievements. #knoydart foundation
