V fortunate to have seen Al Foster in London with George Mraz and Joe Henderson. All were immense but Foster was the revelation for me, incredibly explosive and dramatic but with great class and swing.

Have always loved this book; the Golden Bowl though I’ve started many times and never got beyond about 50 pages.

Just reading your liner notes Mark Stryker - thanks so much. Question. I saw Pharoah play in London at Dingwalls and recall a technique whereby the sax would continue to "play" even when he wasn't blowing into it (after a LOT of circular breathing.) Is this plausible?
