Apple Liquid Glass is a bit more than just a Gaussian blur (Windows Aero Glass). They seems to modify the UVs near the shape edges. Which can be simply implemented with one texture lookup (store UV shift directly or SDF storing object edge distance). It's not expensive or hard.

With the app Substage, users can type out file management tasks in plain English, then use the commands it generates to convert file types, manage folders, create zip files, and more. wired.com/story/substage…

Pretty excited about this: Substage will soon simulate Terminal commands and show a preview of what they’ll do—before they run! I ended up building a full bash parser and simulator from scratch 🤯 so it can track file changes and show a kind of live diff of the outcome.
