I love the current 9th at RSG, but the original 1888 incarnation of the hole looks like a wild ride! The teeing ground was slightly back from where it is today, closer to the 'Hades' 8th, and the green was short of today's. The 'Corsets' hole would have been around 330 yards

Elevations of Augusta National. I've heard people say that the highest point on the course is around the 10th tee, but the mounding around the first green is a few metres higher. The low point is, of course, around the bunker at the front of the 12th green.

Morfontaine provides one of very best golf days imaginable. The big course has a fluid routing laced with subtlety, strategy and variety. The smaller course is packed with wild greens and fabulous short holes. The clubhouse is understated and beautiful. An experience to savour.
