They’ve been murdering people the whole time

Seeing ppl only discuss how they killed a white US citizen in broad daylight and how “bold they’re getting now” and it just becomes more & more apparent that because a lot of victims of ICE were nonwhite some of yall were just fine with complacency unfortunately

As a disabled person, I want to exist on a timeline that isn’t borrowed from someone else’s availability. My care and my time aren’t conditional, and I wish more people understood that.

Even if Alex Pretti wasn’t a kind, harmless ICU nurse with no criminal record and a penchant for helping people he still didn’t deserve to be murdered. No one does, including so-called “illegals”.

Disaster survivors shouldn’t be punished for surviving. Our house was damaged in a hurricane, burned down during reconstruction, and we’re STILL paying back an SBA loan for a home that literally isn’t even there anymore. $30k in debt for ashes.

Actually, I think I’m good on empathy from non-disabled people. It wasn’t that helpful during COVID either. Disabled people are still fighting for basic access every day. We don’t need your feelings. We need action. Access. Resources. Accountability. Policy. Change. All of it.

I get that shelters/rescues have protocols to protect animals. And I know there’s a lack of resources/support to meet the need. I wish there was flexibility working with disabled ppl in adoption/fostering. Strict reqs. and “first come, first serve” leave so many loving homes out.
