NUH patients have been interviewed to find out the benefits to them of having a video consultation where clinically appropriate. What can we do to help more of our patients have convenient access to our clinical care? ๐Ÿ’™ NUH Patient Partnership Group (PPG) ๐Ÿ’™ NUH Ambulatory Care Division

Energy price hikes, empty shelves, chronic labour shortages, tax rises, rampant inflation and not a mad hatters tea party in sight. Where is the Brexit Wonderland we were promised?!

What a fantastic 5 weeks on the NHS QSIR #QSIR course. I would highly recommend it to my NHS colleagues. A big thanks to the facilitators and to Joanne butler and Becky Balai who have been such great comrades!

It's a grim prediction, but by the end of 2022 it's estimated 39 million people in 15 million households, an unprecedented 54% of the entire UK population, will be under threat of fuel & food poverty. However, unlike the Covid pandemic, we STILL have time to prepare for this one.

It is now 1 in 6 #NHS staff in England who report a non-British nationality. These are the people who help connect the UK to 200 health systems around the world. So much to learn. So much to give. The #ExpertsInOurMidst. A #GlobalNHS. #UHCforAll. commonslibrary.parliament.uk/research-briefโ€ฆ

โ€œHalving knife crime will not be achieved by banning knives. You can kill someone with a knitting needle or a screwdriver. Youโ€™ve got to deal with the anger, the rage, the angst, the trauma inside the person.โ€ Read my interview for the The Guardian here๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿผ theguardian.com/uk-news/2024/jโ€ฆ

School attendance has never returned to pre-pandemic levels. So govt says parents of children who are missing without permission are set to face even bigger fines. But it wonโ€™t work! Why? Because families need support rather than penalties, and the fines in place now donโ€™t work!!

Steve Chalke (@stevechalke) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Poor school attendance is a symptom of the real issue, not the cause. Instead of investment, this govt has pushed a brutal one size fits all system packed with testing, pressure & excessive rules, which means many schools just can't offer children the bespoke support they need.

Banning knives will not solve the issue of youth violence. There are a growing number of guns in our cities! The only answer is the development of more caring & supportive communities, investment in childrenโ€™s, youth & families work, & a far more inclusive approach to education!
