It was great taking part in the Ottawa Regional Science Fair last week. The CNL Physics Award was awarded to 8th grader Alyssa Morena for her project “Nuclear Batteries – No Recharge Required”. Alyssa’s project won and she is headed to the #CanadaWideScienceFair in May.

In case you missed it, we shared some exciting news yesterday! CNL, AECL and AtkinsRéalis have signed an MOU to collaborate on heavy water production, which is an important step towards the deployment of new CANDU technology here in Canada. Have a look! ow.ly/vXY750RFMbU

The first project under this initiative is UNITY-2, a groundbreaking test facility located at Chalk River Laboratories. This facility, slated to be operational by mid-2026 will pioneer the full deuterium-tritium fuel cycle from fuel discharge to purification and supply.
