Neil Peart's love of literature and reverence for history deeply informed his songwriting. Read Annie Zaleski's remembrance of the Rush drummer and lyricist: trib.al/vv7iGRv

ORIOLE out in JAMA Oncology: bit.ly/33OAKmR. Metastases directed #SBRT improves PFS over observation. Great work by Phuoc Tran & team. IMHO confirmation needed on larger trial, active comparator (ADT at least) & more robust endpoint. But a great step in right direction.

Fauci is my hero. “‘I do believe that one gets unique insights into disease when you actually physically interact with patients,’ he says. In the case of Ebola, Fauci says he also wanted to show his staff that he wouldn't ask them to do anything he wouldn't do himself”🙏💪

Bill Gates interviewed for The Economist on covid. Well worth watching. You get a sense of a person who spends his time learning, absorbing tremendous knowledge, seeing the big picture, and trying to do something to make it better. youtube.com/watch?v=m7Stkv…

Is there no one in power in Dem Party w/ spine to say “you know, we can fix a few things about drugs, like making sure they all go generic w/o delay, but let’s not pretend like drug spending is THE problem. OOP costs are. Let’s reform insurance & preserve innovation.”?

Payors have embraced the Age of Misdirection—meaning cleverly deflecting the blame for high healthcare costs, while enjoying record profits. Shocking? Not really. Read what health plan executive turned whistleblower, Wendell Potter, has to say about it. bit.ly/2U9P4WL

Congress is on the verge of gutting cancer & Alzheimer’s R&D w/ a few careless lines in reconciliation bill b/c seemingly everyone is tired of trying to do the right thing & thinks no one will notice. You’ll never want to contribute to a campaign after this reading this. 1/20

One might think that this is all Congress needs to see to recognize what it needs to do (hint, current senate bill is awfully generous to PBMs and patients still don’t get first dollar coverage… can you fix that?). And yet… No Patient Left Behind
