Time limits for food assistance. Expanded ineffective work requirements for food & cash assistance. Effectively cutting (by not providing needed inflationary costs increase) rental assistance during already worsening homelessness crisis. Cruel & shortsighted.

This reaction is what happens when politics/policies are seen as a game. Is having some people newly eligible for food assistance a good thing? Yes. Are 750,000+ people in need now at risk of losing their food assistance? YES. Not something to celebrate.

❗️The Supreme Court just ruled to make it easier to jail or fine unhoused people for sleeping outside, even when adequate shelter or housing isn’t available. This will only make homelessness worse. Housing - not tickets, jail, or fines - ends homelessness.
