Eleven years ago, my toddler-aged children became fascinated by a crane that lives in a nearby marina. I told them it was named Bob. They still speak of Bob the Crane. They just watched Hogan’s Heroes for the first time. This joke’s payoff was a long time coming, but worth it.

Does anyone know what setting to change to disable Twitter from sending me notifications from people I don’t follow simply because they think I’ll like the post? Also, Twitter is absolutely horrible at figuring out what posts I might like.

What book has changed your life and how? For me it was Never Eat Alone by Keith Ferrazzi. It really helped me understand the value of being outgoing and how important relationships can be. What about you?

My oldest is talking smack about my video game skills. That’s fine. She’s probably better than me. I have no problem admitting that, but the thing that hurts is the way she described the Atari 2600 controller as a “joystick thing”.

You've seen this before. It's the "treasury" of the ancient, rock-cut city of Petra. But do you know what it actually is — or more interesting, what's inside? It isn't what you might expect... (thread) 🧵
