My momma turns 80 today. I am just in awe of her strength and all around bad assery. She raised a ton of kids, kicked my ass in gear many times over, and is an eccentric dimweh. I want to be just like her when I grow up!

Almost sabbatical time! I deferred a year which was prob not the smartest thing for my holistic health. What I learned OR as the sign says in my office: Be kind to yourself, the institution won't! Pro tip: never defer sab!

Harvesting black ash today with akinomooshin. This is a 7ish foot piece of black ash I'm lifting to put in the back of the truck. I have no clue what I'm doing, but am enjoying every minute.

So proud of our boy, Matthieu Lavallee for launching his rocket (with his team) from University of Waterloo at the First Nations Launch. They did such a great job! 🚀 ❤️

Update on pounding black ash. We began the process and my arms, core, and fingers were aching for days after. This is a time consuming and slow process, but also very mindful and fun in a group!

I was there today and took a pic in their temporary coop. She is building them a big coop next to her camp. It didn't look like there were that many but I counted them after I took the pic and yep...25.

This is my momma at camp this weekend. She is taking a break from gutting an old shed while we build. I want to be just like her when I am her age. I want people to say, What is that old lady up to? And I will continue to surprise them...just like she does now. ❤️#mothersday2024

Sometimes I wish I lived closer to my own territory I drove 4.5 hrs to Long Point FN w my daanis where my parents grew up. I got to see my cousin, brother, nieces & grand-niece. My cuz is the VP of Amo Osaswan school and gave us a tour. Lots of Algonquin language here! 🥰

Vacation done and boy did I go through it! Built a cabin, went on small trips, attended 4 grads, slept for a gazillion hours, and yes I checked my email. Last two weeks were totally work-free!
