Bigger contraction than forecasters were expecting following awful April and driven by drop in hospitality. The last 6 months have shown that the economy only grows when hospitality is strong - ministers need to deliver plan for recovery and growth

A lot of speculation about future tax rises and u-turns. If any tax hike should be reconsidered it’s the NIC change on the threshold which is the most regressive tax increase I’ve seen and which has seen 100,000 job losses already in hospitality and a freeze on investment cuts
