The opening game of the AFL season should be between the previous years Grand Finalists at the Winners home ground so the Premiership Flag can be unfurled at the very start of the season.....Love both Richmond and Carlton, but they do not deserve to have the opening honour.

The AFL commenced in 1990 when the VFL changed its name, however since then it has become a much more national competition,I think all records ie Premiers, games played, goals kicked etc etc prior to 1991 should be acknowledged as VFL, and any records post 1990 acknowledged AFL

The Grand Final looks like it will always be played at the MCG, a great advantage to Victorian tenants who play their regularly, to compensate for this, all clubs should play an appropriate amount of games there per year, not just 1 or 2.

Stop the bye round between last round and finals....If there must be a bye make it between Preliminary Finals and Grand Final to allow a fairer break between games for all.

Make AFLW relevant by holding their games as the curtain raiser before AFL mens games. As part of the broadcast agreement all matches must be televised live. AFL is not a summer sport and is not a short exhibition season.
