This is Kshamenk, Argentina’s last captive orca. He’s been in these concrete tanks at Mundo Marino since 1992. He hasn’t seen another orca since 2000. Orcas are social animals and live with their families in the wild. Solitary confinement is akin to torture. Free Kshamenk!

Ultimately, we human beings depend on nature, so we must preserve our close relations with her. Sometimes we seem to think that technology will solve our problems and allow us to do whatever we like. This Earth Day let’s remember that the reality is we have to protect our world.

Every elephant we rescue, every orphan we raise, and every wild life we safeguard depends on one thing: a habitat to call home. This Earth Day, we’re celebrating the wild spaces that sustain Kenya’s wildlife — from the open plains of Tsavo to the lush forests of Kibwezi and the

For any newbies, this is classic osprey mantling behaviour. When you see this happening on the Live Streaming, it means only ONE thing - there is an intruder osprey close by.

Who'd want to be a fly? 😳 Since Twitter became X, it's been impossible to grow your account anymore. In fact I've lost 7000 followers in that time. If you like birds, I post 5 or 6 brand new pics (that I've taken) every day, & have been doing so for 10 years! 😊🐦❤️

Swift bricks don’t block development, provide nesting habitat for many birds & are fundamental to the survival of several & will stop new 🏡 being sterile of urban birds. A true win win for our Government & our Prime Minster’s intentions to build with nature in mind.

Two more cuckoos ringed this week, with several others calling nearby. These are truly remarkable birds and it's great to share our experiences with the rangers looking after Cannock Chase. Working closely with the rangers is having is showing real benefits us and for wildlife

Labour are backtracking on a plan to help save swifts by blocking a new rule that would make developers put a £35 nest brick in every new home. They think it'll help win them votes - we need to show it would do the opposite. Sign the petition 38d.gs/9qg-

Not many words to adequately sum up today! A spring male Pallas’s Reed Bunting was the perfect reminder of what a magic place Fair Isle is, and of the brilliant people I get to share these birds with. 5th for Britain 3rd(!) for Fair Isle Bird Observatory

What do you think BBC Springwatch! An absolutely amazing Jay's nest, monitored for the BTO's #NestRecordScheme. The scheme only gets around 5 nest records per year, so this will provide well needed information.
