My role as an NHS "pen pusher" meant our psychiatrists didn't have to type & send multiple clinic letters or referrals a day, book appointments and deal with routine queries - freeing up their time to see more patients. Admin staff keep the NHS turning. This headline is gross.

Unite is the one many of us belong to (there is information about unions for SLTs on the RCSLTs pages). We have found they have been very helpful in a variety of ways (with Agenda for change etc).
