I mean honestly if your setting aside the war on trans and black people but wanna fight against the destruction or tenure… idk what ya tell ya but tenure is the least important. Like what is tenure if whole groups of people are suffering? Priorities, or something ?

Please don't forget all the wild, adorable, bizarre, slightly terrifying, and always beautiful land invertebrates on #EarthDay. On top of their intrinsic worth, without them, we couldn't survive.

A weird thing I've found is that many grants love giving $ for supplies, but not staff. People make projects happen. People DOING the THING, need health insurance & salary. One of the grants only allowed 50% of the $ to be labor...but labor is the most expensive thing!

Musk's Twitter reduced maternity leave down to 2 weeks for employees in some states. The company changed the policy recently after employees became outraged and some quit.

Our study on #butterfly #evolution, #hostplants & #ranges is now formally out! We built a phylogeny of 2000 sp and found butterflies originated in N. America 100M years ago, likely fed on legumes. ~100 scientists from 28 countries contributed. Thanks all! nature.com/articles/s4155…

I think a lot about how my grandpa was the sole provider for his wife and four kids, he built a 4-bedroom house with a vegetable garden on a hill in the New England suburbs, put his kids through college, took family vacations every year and retired at 62. and he was a mAiLmAN.

Never forget the Civil Rights Movement included both violent and nonviolent resistance. The manipulative portrayal of it as wholly peaceable for progress + patriotism sanitizes past, present, and future struggles. It tells people to be agreeable and reformist.

Delighted by this NatGeo story of a lobster chef who hated boiling lobsters alive because of their clear distress and decided to get them high first Lobsters were less visibly distressed as they died and they tasted better, pretty fantastic all around??? Love it

(Falling to my knees, begging, pleading) Please. Folks, seriously. PLEASE. Do not - and I can’t emphasize this enough - set the state on fire this weekend.
