Recently, I continued "My Journey Across Broward Schools" with visits to the EEO/ADA and Workers' Compensation departments. I believe it's important not only to express gratitude to our dedicated employees but also to gain a deeper understanding of the work they do each day.

Recently joined the Superintendent & district staff for a visit to Island SPACE Museum—the only Caribbean heritage museum of its kind in the U.S. We're exploring ways to collaborate & enrich our students' academic experience. #ChooseTheBestChooseBCPS

Yesterday evening, I had the privilege of providing an update to the Plantation Education Advisory Board regarding district-wide and District 5 School matters. The success of our students and schools depends on all of us working together.

We’re a district on the forefront of technology-determined to be the best in the nation. Others are noticing! It was an honor to welcome leadership from Maryland’s Montgomery County Public Schools to Dillard 6–12 to see our students using Prism software to enhance math learning.

In honor of National School Lunch Week, I had the privilege of joining students at Mirror Lake Elementary for lunch today. This year’s theme, “Taste the World: Your School Lunch Passport,” highlights the variety and creativity in school meals.

Yesterday, I attended an update meeting on the progress of the new building construction at Parkway Middle School. The project construction team and district staff provided a detailed progress report on this important development.

Visited Seagull and Whiddon-Rogers to learn about the proposal to combine both schools.

Attended the Sunrise Commission meeting to share District 5 updates and celebrate student leadership and sustainability!

November is National Homeless Youth Awareness Month. The BCPS HEART initiative prioritizes support for homeless youth in their academic journey. Join us in raising awareness, fostering support networks, and inspiring action to create a world where every young person thrives.

Congratulations to Larkdale Elementary on their ribbon-cutting ceremony for their new culinary lab!

I had the opportunity to attend the Appreciation Ceremony as the School Board of Broward County accepted the generous gift of the Holocaust Education Museum at the NSU Library. Broward County students will have opportunities to tour the museum throughout the school year.
