In Japan there is a tradition to eat pumpkin and soak in a yuzu bath on the day of the winter solstice. The capybaras at Ishikawa Zoo were able to enjoy both.

Last night, we hosted the JET Welcome Back Reception honouring JET Programme Canada participants from Ottawa who recently returned from Japan. Since 1988, over 10,000 Canadians have participated in the JET Programme.

In his remarks, Ambassador Yamanouchi highlighted the importance of people-to-people exchanges like JET in strengthening Japan-Canada relations and expressed his hope that JET returnees will contribute to promoting friendship between our two countries.
