Today we remember the courage and sacrifice of the 3,598 Canadians who died, and 7,000 more who were wounded during the four-day battle of Vimy Ridge, in France, in 1917. #VimyRidgeDay #FWW 🍁🕊️

The National Flag of Canada is flying at half-mast on the #PeaceTower today to mark the national day of remembrance of the Battle of Vimy Ridge.

There were quite a few solar eclipse enthusiasts on Parliament Hill this afternoon taking in this rare celestial event.

To honour and remember the victims and the survivors of the 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi in Rwanda, the Peace Tower will be lit up in the colours of the Rwandan flag from sunset to 11 p.m. tonight.

Today we remember one of the darkest chapters in human history, the 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi in Rwanda.

As we honour the victims and the survivors, we pledge to never forget them.

In Nairobi, our delegation visited the YMCA to meet with representatives from the International Organization for Migration. These families will be flying to Canada next week to establish a new home for themselves. It was a pleasure to wish them well before their departure. 🇰🇪🇨🇦
