You may be “shell shocked” to learn Consumers Energy has saved more than 6,000 reptiles and amphibians along Phase I of the Mid-Michigan pipeline. Before these blanding’s turtles are released in the wild, we took them into two 4th grade classrooms for some interactive learning.

20+ turtles were released back into the wild after Consumers Energy helped to incubate their eggs through the winter. Awesome lesson in conservation for these two and how turtles act as bio-indicators and help to balance the ecosystem. 🐢 🌱 💦 🌎
