A nice article about Health TAPESTRY in today's Hamilton Spectator - there is so much potential for community volunteers in supporting people's health. #HamOnt #primarycare thespec.com/news/hamilton-…
Very happy to be involved with Health TAPESTRY. Bringing community volunteers into patient's homes creates such meaning socially. Asking "What matters to you?" instead of "What's the matter with you?" (to paraphrase @DougOliver19) brings the focus to the person. #seniors
Nice feature on my mom & sister's tea business, Tea Amo, from The Silhouette thesil.ca/travelling-tea… #HamOnt
I'm happy to share that this paper I worked on about a Health TAPESTRY project that supported people with diabetes & hypertension (through volunteers and technology in their homes) is now open-access for anyone to be able to read rdcu.be/b9axL #diabetes
I participated in Indigenous Teaching Through Art at Woodland Cultural Centre - an intense but meaningful day where we began to more fully understand the trauma of residential school survivors (on site of a residential school), and learn about indigenous ways of knowing through art activities
Yesterday I mentioned McMaster Family Med's Indigenous Teaching Through Art, & now I've read about art's role in upholding colonialism while building what we now call Canada. "...a preview of the whole of settler colonialism, sordid, indelible, irreversible." nytimes.com/interactive/20…
