No user will log in, pat themselves on the back for doing a good day’s work, then go home. Logging in provides zero value to your user. It is NOT a USER story.

I don’t think there is an optimal size for a story. Plot out the workflow with all variables eliminated (expressed as constants) and you have a linear path from start to value delivered. That’s as small as you can get. →

Une infox est un mensonge auquel les journalistes ne croient pas. Mais comment on appelle t-on un mensonge tellement répété qu'il est devenu crédible ?

The phrase "not a team player" is almost always used by someone who is not a team player. The phrase usually means you should follow orders along with the other sheep on the team. The person using the phrase usually issues those orders. That’s a chain gang, not a team.

"Monolith" is not an architecture, it’s a deployment strategy. Your monolith could be a chaotic tangle of unmaintainable spaghetti, or it could could be organized as well defined context-focused services (µservices w/o the network) or anything else, but it deploys all at once.

Le recul français sur la tech est aussi une anticipation auto-réalisatrice. Ce n'est pas un discours, ce n'est pas une politique, ce sont des pensées et des actes de tous. ⤵️

Instead of putting tech tasks onto your backlog: First, if tech work needs to be done to get a story to work, it's just part of the story so doesn't need separate treatment. 1/6

As an application grows, the original boundaries and partitions that seemed so appropriate at the start, dissolve away to be replaced by a far more appropriate set of divisions. Resisting that inevitable shuffling is architectural suicide.

To make your job as an experienced software engineer or engineering manager easier: Educate non software engineers you work with what good software engineering looks like and why. What is CI/CD? Tech debt? Staged rollout? Pre-mortem? Why are they important and why do you do it?

Meetings are the worst! They burn people out and nothing gets done. My tweet on meetings and burn out last week hit a nerve. It resonated with a lot of folks. These are 7 steps I follow to aggressively reduce meetings. A short 🧵

Too many ppl seem to use Jira's breathtakingly incorrect definitions of story, epic, task—one way that using Jira distorts your process away from agility. What are they really? 1/7

Why I don't use Scrum to manage my Remote Teams? TL;DR: It adds at least 8 hours of meetings per Sprint. That's 2 full days of lost productivity, per team member, per month! This is what I do instead 👇

I'm Boris and I created Claude Code. Lots of people have asked how I use Claude Code, so I wanted to show off my setup a bit. My setup might be surprisingly vanilla! Claude Code works great out of the box, so I personally don't customize it much. There is no one correct way to
