The xz backdoor was initially caught by a software engineer at Microsoft. He noticed 500ms lag and thought something was suspicious. This is the Silver Back Gorilla of nerds. The internet final boss.

In my queste of learning electronics, I decided to decompose an esp32-devboard to gain an understanding of each component. Today, I got the power regulation fixed by using the AMS1117 Low-dropout regulator (LDO), two capacitors, a led, a microUSB socket, and a resistor

Learning electronics part n: designed a 5V to 3.3V Micro-USB converter to power my esp32. Soldering needs some improvement but happy it works!

Trying to replicate presentation from Sheila A. Berta (media.defcon.org/DEF%20CON%2027…). Unfortunately most protection bits are set on the PIC18F452 I desoldered, and hence only saw the date the device was killed in the EEPROM. Still learned a lot about hacking MCUs!

After explicitly enabling modbus and mapping blocks to memory, I can finaly remotely manipulate my PLC program through a python script :)

Couldn’t resist using an IR receiver, transmitter and an ESP32 to replay and learn about the remote controlled dinosaur
