EU handwringing over Ukraine post-election is silly. Putin's war machine runs on oil exports, the bulk of which run through EU waters and in many cases on Greek ships. The EU can starve Russia if it wants. It just doesn't want to. It wants to talk about joint EU debt issuance...

I can show you in one simple chart why industry wants to flee Europe for America: from 2019 to 2023, electricity prices in Europe skyrocketed, more than doubling in Britain and even Poland, up 50% in Germany and Italy. Meanwhile, cheap U.S. electricity has gotten even cheaper.

The government shouldn't just be an obstacle in the way of getting things done. The government should be one of if not the most important players instigating solutions to problems.

You guys never learn. Having a bunch of people stand there and saying “This one is black! This one is Korean!” is fundamentally dehumanizing. Non-leftists feel this intuitively, and this is the healthy response. What an odd way to go through life.

I will never forget the ‘studies’ put out by academics and non profits that said that Asian swings to the right were because of ‘disinformation.’ When you looked at what they were taking about it was stuff like ‘admissions policies that discriminate against us are bad’

Excited to share our latest work! We find that common-variant GWAS and rare-variant burden tests prioritize genes in fundamentally different ways, with important implications. Check out Jeff’s excellent thread below👇

Have you noticed that people seem younger at the same ages? 40 is the new 30, 30 is the new 25, and so on? There's something to it. People nowadays are aging more gracefully, and what makes this more interesting is that it's a global phenomenon. Let's talk five "capacities"🧵

Europe can't depend on the US any more. We need to get serious. We need to get tough. We need op-eds. We need speeches. We need conferences. And we need them now.

Trump lit the tariff fuse but if Congress won’t defuse, the wreckage is also on them. Tariff policy is Congress’s domain not the President’s. Congress cannot evade responsibility.

I can confirm I've replicated the CEA calculation for the so-called "tariffs charged to the USA" on these charts. It is the Census FT900 trade data, exhibit 4, for year 2024, and the formula is MAX(10%,(imports-exports)/imports) per-country on a customs basis.

This 84 follower account just nailed it Trump's USTR formulas are replicating Ibram Kendi's misunderstanding of "disparate impact" in a trade context Any bilateral trade deficit is treated as conclusive evidence of discriminatory conduct no matter the cause

This seems massively overhyped. "Creating the dire wolves called for making just 20 edits in 14 genes in the common gray wolf." In other words, it's not a dire wolf - it's a gray wolf modified to be more like a dire wolf. That's a cool achievement but they have not 'brought the

The way this insanity is likely going to end is that eventually Trump will no longer be able to withstand the pressure from American voters and businesses, so he'll walk it back at least in part and will claim that it was a great victory for the US, on the ground that he made
